FinConnect
FinConnect empowers students, newcomers, and underserved communities to break free from financial stress through interactive workshops and gamified learning.

FinConnect addresses a critical gap in Canadian education, where nearly two-thirds of Canadians never received financial literacy training in school, and 84% believe it would have reduced their financial stress. This lack of knowledge leaves students, newcomers, and underserved communities vulnerable to debt, poor financial decisions, and limited economic opportunity.
The initiative uses a blended approach to make financial education accessible, affordable, and engaging. During the pilot phase, on-campus workshops feature interactive simulations, games like Budget Bingo and Trivia, and real-life scenarios such as Mock Negotiation Fairs that create practical learning environments. The scaling phase introduces the FinConnect App, a gamified platform similar to “Duolingo for Finance,” offering bite-sized lessons, quizzes, and challenges tailored for children, students, newcomers, and professionals.
By combining hands-on workshops with scalable digital technology, FinConnect ensures that financial literacy becomes accessible across Canada, empowering individuals to achieve long-term stability and independence regardless of their background or circumstances.
